Senior Node.js Developer

Location: Limassol, Cyprus; office-based role

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable backend systems for high-load applications and large traffic volumes.
• Build RESTful services, GraphQL APIs, WebSocket connections, and distributed microservices.
• Integrate third-party APIs, payment systems, and external service providers.
• Optimize application performance through caching, database optimization, and efficient resource utilization.
• Develop features through the full lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to deployment and monitoring.
• Use AI agents in daily development, contribute reusable AI tooling, and automate repetitive engineering work.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, primarily with backend systems.
• 4+ years of production Node.js development and strong knowledge of JavaScript runtime internals.
• 3+ years of experience building high-load, highly available systems.
• Advanced JavaScript and TypeScript skills, including asynchronous programming and large-scale application development.
• Experience with Node.js frameworks, REST, GraphQL, WebSockets, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis or Valkey, NATS or Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or Azure, and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
• Strong English communication skills and hands-on experience with agentic development tools such as Claude Code or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Experience creating reusable AI skills, commands, agent workflows, or MCP integrations.
• Strong knowledge of scalability, caching, distributed-system debugging, and performance optimization.
