TL;DR
Java Engineer (Payment Systems) (Java/Spring Boot): Building and operating backend microservices and APIs for high-availability payment order orchestration with an accent on secure programming, automated testing, and observability. What you will do
- Design and build backend microservices and internal and external APIs for the Order Manager as a Platform payment orchestration engine.
- Develop secure, scalable, and highly available services supporting instant payments and mission-critical transaction flows.
- Lead feature design, provide architectural guidance, conduct code reviews, and collaborate with Product Owners and architects.
- Build automated unit, integration, component, and API tests using JUnit, Karate, and Cucumber.
- Own CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, logging, incident analysis, and production reliability improvements.
- Mentor engineers and act as a subject matter expert in payment systems, PSD2, SEPA, and complex financial flows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 3–7+ years of Java engineering experience building distributed backend systems.
- Expertise in Java 21, Spring Boot, REST APIs, JAX-RS, and microservices.
- Strong experience with automated testing, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Git, and Maven.
- Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTracing, ELKaaS, Linux, NoSQL databases, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of secure programming, OWASP practices, analytical problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership.
Nice to have
- Payment domain expertise, including PSD2, SEPA, and instant payments.
- Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
- Background in performance engineering or high-throughput systems.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and working with observability tools.
