Senior Accountant, Captives (Insurance)

Location: Daytona Beach, FL, USA; full-time, onsite position.

What you will do

• Complete, review, and approve monthly journal entries and cash disbursements.
• Perform full-cycle month-end close functions in Agency and ERP systems, including reporting and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank accounts and ensure transaction support is accurately processed and filed on time.
• Prepare control-required document submissions and assist with monthly and quarterly ASC 606 and ASC 944 calculations.
• Analyze results to verify the accuracy of financial packages and meet strict deadlines.
• Build effective relationships with office staff, support teamwork and knowledge sharing, and maintain current industry and professional knowledge.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 3–5 years of full-cycle general ledger accounting experience.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Teams and Word, and high proficiency in Excel.
• Strong financial accounting, analytical, planning, organizing, problem-solving, written and oral communication, confidentiality, adaptability, quality-control, and time-management skills.
• Ability to complete assignments within the required timeframe, absorb knowledge quickly, work accurately with attention to detail, and operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Insurance industry experience.
• Knowledge of captive insurance entities, including premium activity, reserves, and regulatory reporting considerations.
• Knowledge of Excel Power Query.
