Principal Survey Analyst (Land Survey)

Location: Tucson, Arizona, US; onsite in the Tucson office

What you will do

• Collect and process survey data from GPS, robotic total stations, UAV/UAS, 3D laser scanners, LiDAR, photogrammetry, and 360-degree cameras.
• Create and edit surfaces, topography, contours, aerial photography, orthophotography, volumes, exhibits, and maps using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Research and determine property boundaries, rights-of-way, easements, survey control, and monument perpetuation through Public Land Survey System records.
• Prepare legal descriptions, lot splits, final plats, Records of Survey, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, parcels, roads, subdivisions, and easements.
• Prepare construction staking calculations and field packages while coordinating with survey crews, civil engineering, water resources, design, and field teams.
• Prepare GIS datasets, including shapefiles and Esri file geodatabases, for agency use.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Geographic Information Systems or BS in Land Surveying with at least six years of experience, or equivalent experience of ten years.
• Registered Land Surveyor in Arizona, or ability to obtain Arizona RLS registration within one year of hire.
• Advanced knowledge of boundary principles, land management, geometry, trigonometry, units, coordinate systems, map projections, datums, and coordinate transformations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including legal descriptions, ALTA/NSPS standards, final plats, Records of Survey, and survey document processing.
• Experience with Arizona municipal agencies, public records, GIS teams, GIS datasets, and GIS web applications.
• Ability to read construction drawings, manage multiple projects, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams and field personnel.
