Application Engineer III (E3)

Location: Santa Clara, CA, United States. Onsite role with approximately 20% travel. Relocation is not eligible.

Salary: $124,000–$171,000 per year, with potential bonus and stock award compensation.

What you will do

• Support service product development through NPI testing and customer-site optimization.
• Develop algorithms and analytics solutions using Python, R, and AI/ML techniques.
• Build and support applications, dashboards, and APIs for R&D and high-volume manufacturing.
• Analyze SPC, FDC, sensor, and equipment data to identify root causes and improve tool reliability.
• Partner with customers and cross-functional teams to define requirements, demonstrate digital tools, and drive field adoption.
• Lead or support projects, communicate results and risks, and maintain best-known methods and procedures.

Requirements

• Semiconductor field operations experience or strong manufacturing knowledge.
• Application design experience for high-volume manufacturing tools and scripting proficiency.
• Experience with semiconductor processes and tool maintenance for at least one tool type.
• Experience in software development and application design.
• Ability to solve complex problems, communicate sensitive information clearly, and build alignment across teams.
• Ability to work in Santa Clara, California, with approximately 20% travel; relocation is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-volume 300 mm semiconductor or display manufacturing.
• Experience leading small projects or supporting less-experienced colleagues.
