Project Accountant (AEC)

Location: Hybrid in Addison, Texas, USA

Salary: $65,000–$85,000 base annually, plus eligibility for a performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead financial administration and fiscal management for multiple projects.
• Review project setups, monitor expenditures, and identify financial risks such as cash-position concerns and unapproved change orders.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition, cost allocation, percent-complete updates, billing, and project forecasting.
• Support month-end close, work-in-progress reporting, accounts receivable reconciliation, and project closeout in Vantage.
• Review subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, invoice approvals, and project performance reports.
• Partner with project managers, engineers, executives, and finance leaders on reporting, process improvement, automation, and ad hoc accounting projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the AEC industry or another project-based environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, cost analysis, billing rate audits, and financial forecasting.
• Computer literacy with ERP systems; Deltek experience is a plus, and strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
