Senior Accountant

Location: Hybrid schedule based in New York, NY, with a minimum of four days per week in the office

Salary: $80,000–$95,000 per year

What you will do

• Coordinate and prepare monthly and quarterly close deliverables.
• Maintain BlackLine account reconciliations, including certification, supporting documentation, and resolution of reconciling items.
• Prepare monthly journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Support controllership activities and compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Research opportunities to streamline and standardize accounting processes.
• Respond to ad hoc accounting requests and deliverables while partnering with NBC News and other business units.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least two years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance.
• Ability to interpret and apply accounting standards to business transactions.
• Computer skills including SAP, AOE, and Excel.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize competing deadlines, communicate effectively, and collaborate across organizational levels.
• Ability to contribute from the New York, NY office at least four days per week under the current hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience in the media or entertainment industry.
• CPA certification and public accounting experience.
• Experience identifying and mitigating control weaknesses.
