Warehouse Operations Management Trainee (Minnesota)

Location: On-site training at SCP Distributors in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; relocation out of state is required after training, with company-provided assistance.

Salary: $28.85 per hour for full-time positions in NV, NY, WA, CA, CO, CT, NJ, RI, and HI. Relocation or cost-of-living adjustments may also apply.

What you will do

• Complete a six-month, hands-on management training program in a distribution warehouse.
• Rotate through operations, management, purchasing, and other distribution-center functions.
• Observe experienced employees and learn operational methods, procedures, and performance standards.
• Shadow contractors, builders, service and maintenance providers, and retail customers to understand the swimming pool, irrigation, and landscaping business.
• Attend classroom training in Plano, Texas, covering operations, financials, leadership, human capital management, and operating systems.
• Present program results to senior management and become eligible to apply for operations supervisor or operations manager roles nationwide.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in industrial distribution, supply chain management, management, operations, or a related discipline, with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Leadership or problem-solving experience, including relevant internships, organizations, volunteer work, athletics, or military leadership.
• Desire and ability to work in a distribution warehouse and lead a team in a rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to relocate during and after the program at company expense and travel 25% of the time.
• Ability to operate or maneuver heavy machinery such as pallet jacks and forklifts and lift products weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background verification is required; the position is safety-sensitive.

• Bilingual English and Spanish skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn inventory and other business systems.
