Electrical Hardware Reliability Engineer

Location: United States work authorization or eligibility for applicable U.S. export-control licensing may be required for certain positions.

What you will do

• Evaluate, develop, design, and implement software and product reliability test regimens for cloud infrastructure hardware.
• Apply Design for Reliability principles to ensure servers meet specified use conditions, stresses, and design objectives.
• Create and revise reliability engineering guidelines to improve field performance through design enhancements.
• Evaluate and predict performance, collect and analyze reliability data, and improve server reliability and maintainability.
• Develop scripts that represent expected operating environments and conditions.
• Collaborate with program management, vendors, design engineering, software teams, and other stakeholders to resolve reliability issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Development with 8+ years of relevant experience; alternatively, a master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of computer systems and hardware structures, including switch and network interfaces.
• Programming knowledge or experience with Python, Unix, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of statistical and probability techniques and reliability modeling.
• Ability to communicate, collaborate, and lead cross-functional issue resolution, including customer-related issues.
• Certain positions may require U.S. citizenship, permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility for an export-control license or exception.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of computer and server architecture, hardware/firmware/OS interactions, and PCBA design, fabrication, and validation testing.
• Experience with ReliaSoft, JMP, or Minitab.
• Knowledge of electronic components, devices, failure modes, and failure mechanisms.
• Knowledge of IPC, JEDEC, Telcordia, and MIL-STD standards.
