Controls & Systems Design Engineer (Water Quality)

Location: Onsite at the Fort Myers, Florida manufacturing facility, Monday–Friday. Travel of up to 25% may be required for training, product testing and debugging, customer startup visits, and collaboration at other hirify.global facilities.

What you will do

• Support the development, launch, and ongoing support of reverse osmosis, filtration, UV disinfection, no-salt conditioning, and other smart water products.
• Perform electrical and electronic testing, validation, and troubleshooting of hardware, firmware, circuits, and control systems.
• Evaluate components and technologies, and support electrical enclosure design, component layout, wiring, and product reliability improvements.
• Lead or support product transitions from Engineering to Operations, including manufacturing readiness, documentation, and field implementation.
• Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and product guidance to service teams, operations, customers, and external partners.
• Create and improve technical drawings, manuals, engineering guides, sales materials, service documentation, and customer training presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a closely related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical, controls, or systems engineering.
• Experience supporting customers, field service teams, and internal stakeholders with technical troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Understanding of analog and digital circuits, control systems, electrical enclosure design, component layout, and microcontroller-based wiring.
• Hands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and protocol analyzers.
• Must successfully establish employment eligibility and complete background checks and required pre-employment testing.

Nice to have

• Experience with water quality products, reverse osmosis, filtration, UV disinfection, pumps, valves, sensors, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Onshape, SolidWorks, Inventor, Altium, or OrCAD.
• Experience with C, C#, Python, embedded firmware environments, soldering, or electronic rework.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
