Lead Tax Analyst - Indirect Tax

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States. Full-time, office-based role; minimal to occasional travel may be required.

Salary: $102,000–$135,000 annually, plus potential eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Oversee indirect tax compliance and related tax accounting.
• Review state insurance premium, use, franchise, federal excise, and other non-income tax returns.
• Analyze financial data from tax, accounting, and information systems.
• Research complex tax laws and accounting principles, including potential foreign VAT matters.
• Lead projects involving new tax laws, accounting principles, reporting, process efficiency, and risk management.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, training, and direction to staff while collaborating across departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent education and experience.
• Eight years of tax accounting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the assigned tax specialty.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, communication, and computer skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Adherence to internal control requirements.
