Senior Python Software Engineer (MLOps): Building and scaling production platforms, services, and workflows for the machine learning lifecycle in sensor-based sorting systems with an accent on ML pipelines, secure data platforms, model deployment, and edge inference. Location: Hybrid role based in Mülheim-Kärlich, Germany

What you will do
- Build end-to-end machine learning training pipelines covering data ingestion, validation, transformation, training, and evaluation.
- Deploy, optimize, and package models for cloud inference and edge deployment on industrial sorting machines.
- Build and maintain secure data platforms, including SQL and NoSQL warehouses, object storage, and feature stores.
- Design REST APIs and internal web-based tools that support machine learning workflows.
- Develop maintainable production software with testing, documentation, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Own projects across stakeholder management, requirements engineering, project management, and technical decision-making.
Requirements
- Several years of professional experience delivering production machine learning systems with measurable impact.
- Expertise in Python, computer vision, and machine learning/deep learning tooling.
- Proficiency in MLOps, data modelling, packaging, containerization, and CI/CD.
- Experience with cloud and on-premises platforms and interfaces.
- Knowledge of model optimization frameworks including TensorRT, ONNX, CUDA, and cuDNN, plus edge deployment on x64 or ARM/Jetson hardware.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn TypeScript, REST API development, and modern frontend frameworks such as Vue or React.
