Senior User Researcher (Public Sector)

Location: Any UK office hub: Bristol, London, Manchester, or Swansea. Part-time remote working is available.

Salary: £50,000–£55,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end user research as the research subject matter expert within multidisciplinary teams.
• Scope research objectives and select suitable qualitative and quantitative methods.
• Conduct usability testing, contextual enquiry, rapid research, surveys, and evaluative research with service users.
• Analyse and synthesise research data into compelling, actionable insights for design and delivery teams.
• Build relationships with stakeholders, communicate research progress, and present findings in meetings and show-and-tells.
• Advocate for evidence-based decisions and user research across public service projects.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in user-centred, lean, and agile research methodologies.
• Experience working independently within multidisciplinary teams and on client deliveries.
• Knowledge of accessibility, inclusive design, research analysis, and synthesis techniques.
• Understanding of research standards, the MRS code of practice, and GDPR.
• Ability to communicate clearly with research participants, including sharing GDPR policies.
• Successful candidates must undertake SC clearance.

• Skills in service design, content design, or interaction design.
• Experience supporting researcher hiring and onboarding.
