Hardware Deployment Engineering Team Lead (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; remote work is not available. Regular travel to data centers across EMEA is required.

What you will do

• Manage and develop a Deployment Engineering team working across EMEA data center launches and expansion projects.
• Plan engineering capacity, resource allocation, project priorities, deployment phases, and travel requirements across parallel projects.
• Coordinate technical execution for hardware bring-up, testing, troubleshooting, acceptance, and handover of GPU, compute, and storage infrastructure.
• Lead investigations into complex hardware, firmware, Linux, and systems issues, driving failures toward root cause or actionable escalation.
• Coordinate with project management, Data Center Operations, R&D, vendors, ODMs, and other engineering teams.
• Build repeatable deployment standards, checklists, tooling, automation, and process improvements that increase deployment quality and scale.

Requirements

• Strong experience with server hardware, data center infrastructure, or large-scale systems deployment.
• Experience leading engineers as a people manager, technical lead, or team lead with clear ownership.
• Ability to plan resources and coordinate engineering work across multiple parallel projects.
• Strong ownership, investigation, communication, and issue-resolution skills in environments with incomplete procedures.
• Comfort working directly in data centers and traveling across EMEA.
• Applicants must already be authorized to work in the Netherlands and provide proof of employment eligibility.

Nice to have

• Linux troubleshooting and modern server architecture knowledge.
• Experience diagnosing CPU, memory, NVMe, PCIe, NIC, BMC, BIOS, and firmware issues.
• Experience deploying GPU or AI infrastructure at scale or operating large server fleets.
• Experience with ODMs, server vendors, automated hardware validation, or fleet-level testing.
• Experience building deployment, infrastructure, SRE, hardware reliability, or similar engineering teams.
