Senior QC Engineer (Data Direction)

What you will do

• Design and execute testing strategies for data ingestion, transformation, modeling, governance, and publishing.
• Validate large datasets with complex SQL queries, checking accuracy, completeness, consistency, schemas, and metadata.
• Test ETL/ELT pipelines and data processing across BigQuery, Spanner, and Cloud Composer.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and non-functional testing and investigate pipeline issues using monitoring and logging.
• Create test plans, test cases, validation scenarios, and test reports while collaborating with Data and Platform Engineers.
• Improve data governance, test automation, CI/CD, and platform reliability, including validation of AI/ML-enabled data capabilities.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Quality Control or Quality Engineering, preferably with data-intensive or cloud-based systems.
• Strong experience with GCP data services, especially BigQuery, Spanner, and Cloud Composer.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with data validation, schema checks, metadata, lineage, and data quality testing.
• Understanding of functional, integration, regression, and non-functional testing, as well as ETL/ELT validation.
• Experience maintaining structured test documentation and investigating complex data quality issues.
• Proficiency in English is required. Interest in expanding technical expertise toward Data Engineering is expected.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Dataplex, IBM Netezza, GCP monitoring and logging tools, or AI/ML validation.
• Understanding of data mesh principles and enterprise data platform concepts.
