Associate Scientist or Scientist (Cancer Biology): Designing and leading mouse-model and organoid-based studies of cancer initiation, progression, epithelial–stromal interactions, and systemic cancer risk with an accent on mammary gland biology, breast cancer models, and quantitative molecular analysis. Focus on establishing complex animal and ex vivo experiments, developing organoid co-cultures, interpreting multi-omic data, and maintaining rigorous reproducibility and animal-welfare standards.
Location: Memphis, TN, United States; onsite research position.
Salary: $86,320–$154,960 per year for the Scientist-level range. The Associate Scientist range is $65,520–$114,400 per year.

What you will do
- Design, coordinate, and execute genetically engineered, syngeneic, transplantation, and treatment-based mouse studies in mammary gland biology and breast cancer.
- Manage breeding strategies, cohort generation, genotyping, randomization, longitudinal monitoring, tissue collection, and animal records.
- Establish and optimize primary mammary epithelial and tumor organoid cultures from mouse and human specimens.
- Develop organoid assays and co-culture systems involving fibroblasts, immune cells, extracellular matrix, and other microenvironmental populations.
- Perform or supervise flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, image analysis, western blotting, qPCR, ELISA, and related assays.
- Plan projects with the principal investigator, analyze data, troubleshoot experiments, present findings, and coordinate with laboratory members and collaborators.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in cancer biology, cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field.
- PhD or equivalent doctoral degree is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with mouse models and animal experimentation.
- Experience with primary cell culture, three-dimensional culture, organoids, or tissue-derived experimental systems.
- Strong understanding of experimental design, biological controls, reproducibility, quantitative data interpretation, and scientific documentation.
- Relevant experience requirements vary by appointment level and degree: up to 8 years for Scientist and up to 7+ years for Associate Scientist, with reduced requirements for Master's or PhD holders.
