Principal Visual Inspection Engineer (Biotech)

Location: Rensselaer, New York, United States. Onsite work, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with approximately 10% domestic and international travel.

Salary: $92,200–$176,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead equipment selection, process development, and lifecycle management for semi-automated and fully automated visual inspection systems.
• Develop product-specific inspection recipes, tune vision systems, and create KNAPP/test sets.
• Support equipment commissioning, startup, qualification, and validation with Project Engineering, QA Validation, and Process Validation.
• Support technology transfer, new product introduction, and the development or revision of defect classifications and manuals.
• Establish and improve visual inspection policies, procedures, operator training, and qualification content.
• Trend and analyze process data to implement continuous improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience for Principal VI Engineer level; level will be determined based on experience.
• Experience in pharmaceutical automated visual inspection and camera tuning.
• Ability to work onsite in Rensselaer, New York, Monday–Friday during the stated work schedule.
