Principal Clinical Research Scientist (MedTech)

Location: Hybrid role based in Sunnyvale, California, United States

Salary: $168,000–$185,000 USD annually, with potential performance-based bonuses and equity.

What you will do

• Own the clinical evidence lifecycle from gap analysis, literature review, and study conception through data analysis, manuscript authorship, and peer-reviewed publication.
• Design and support prospective and retrospective clinical studies for existing and future products.
• Author and present abstracts, manuscripts, posters, and presentations for scientific conferences and commercial audiences.
• Manage the clinical evidence library and publication pipeline, coordinating timelines and strategy with Regulatory and Marketing.
• Support regulatory submissions, including FDA 510(k) submissions, with clinical evidence and trial results.
• Collaborate with investigators, physicians, KOLs, Data Science, Regulatory, Product, Marketing, Sales, and Go-to-Market teams to translate clinical data into accurate, compliant materials.

Requirements

• PhD in Clinical Research, Engineering, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or a related life science discipline.
• At least 5 years of clinical research experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis using R, Python, or an equivalent tool.
• Strong scientific writing skills and experience authoring peer-reviewed journal articles.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret clinical data and communicate complex findings to clinicians, regulators, and commercial teams.
• Hybrid work based in Sunnyvale, California, United States.

• 8 or more years of clinical research experience in the medical device industry.
