Principal Python Engineer (Modeling & Simulation)

Location: United States; remote across Eastern and Central Time Zones in the US

Salary: $150,000–$300,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and own complex production Python systems end to end.
• Design scalable backend architectures covering APIs, data models, queues, and distributed workflows.
• Develop modelling and simulation systems, potentially involving C++ and AFSIM or similar frameworks.
• Solve performance, reliability, and deployment challenges in defence environments.
• Work across AI-assisted development, simulation, compilers, and heterogeneous compute.
• Lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers while remaining hands-on.

Requirements

• Strong Python engineering experience building production systems.
• Experience with backend architecture, distributed systems, and complex software infrastructure.
• Experience with modelling and simulation; C++ and AFSIM or similar frameworks are relevant.
• US citizenship or clearance eligibility is required for applicable assignments.
• Availability to work across Eastern and Central US time zones.
