What you will do

  • Provide individualized career counseling, employment services, job-readiness support, and career pathway planning for high school students.
  • Assess participant needs, determine program eligibility, enroll eligible students in WIOA-related services, and maintain case documentation.
  • Develop and monitor Individualized Service Plans, track student progress, and make referrals to additional resources.
  • Build relationships with employers and arrange internships, part-time jobs, job shadowing, apprenticeships, presentations, and job matches.
  • Deliver workshops on resumes, interviews, workplace communication, professional etiquette, soft skills, and basic job competencies.
  • Track placements, credential attainment, work-based learning participation, student outcomes, and WIOA compliance reporting.

Requirements

  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish is required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in workforce development, career counseling, or a related field; youth experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of career counseling techniques, workforce development practices, and WIOA regulations and eligibility requirements.
  • Experience with case management, government-funded workforce programs, and databases such as ARIES or similar systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, organization, relationship-building, documentation, and data-tracking skills.
  • Ability to work onsite at a high school and occasionally travel; flexible availability may include evenings or weekends.
