Gameplay Camera Specialist (Unreal Engine)

Location: Applicants must be based in Canada; hybrid and remote work options are available. Offices are located in Quebec City and Montreal.

What you will do

• Collaborate with creative direction and game design leadership to define the style, needs, and role of cameras in the game experience.
• Design, implement, and maintain camera systems based on the project's creative and gameplay requirements.
• Ensure comfortable character controls and account for character interaction with the environment.
• Analyze gameplay with designers to determine effective shots and camera angles.
• Help programming teams build development and debugging tools, validate camera functionality, and resolve camera bugs reported by QA.
• Support the realization team with seamless integration of gameplay and cinematic cameras.

Requirements

• Experience in video game level design, game design, or filmmaking.
• Solid understanding of the 3Cs: Camera, Control, and Character.
• Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine, including Blueprint and State Tree.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Critical, analytical, rigorous thinking, artistic vision, and strong prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in broadcasting or film.
