Lighting TD - Senior (VFX)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (Hybrid). Candidates must be based in British Columbia and eligible to work in Canada.

Salary: CAD 110,500–123,500 per year for a 40-hour work week.

What you will do

• Apply client notes and deliver high-quality lighting shots with minimal guidance.
• Light varied shot types while maintaining continuity in lighting, color balance, mood, and scene consistency.
• Work with compositing artists to create complex, high-quality composites.
• Design and develop procedural tools, pipelines, and techniques for lighting artists.
• Mentor junior and mid-level artists, support quality control, and help Leads flag production issues.
• Manage time and resources, communicate challenges, and support weekly delivery targets.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in lighting for digital VFX in film or commercials.
• Expert knowledge of a physically plausible renderer such as Arnold.
• Strong understanding of CG shading, render passes, arbitrary outputs, lighting workflows, and linear color-space workflows.
• Working knowledge of Python or similar scripting languages and technical production workflows.
• Strong artistic understanding of cinematography, composition, photography, digital compositing, and high-resolution detail.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, time management, troubleshooting, and prioritization skills.
