TL;DR
Cyber Shift Incident Manager (Cybersecurity): Managing and investigating cyber incidents for U.S. Government agencies and critical asset owners with an accent on incident triage, threat analysis, mitigation planning, and service restoration. Focus on correlating alerts and incident data, assessing scope and impact, coordinating resolution activities, and documenting incidents throughout the response lifecycle.

Location: On-site only in Arlington, Virginia, United States; Shift 2, Monday–Friday, 14:00–22:00

What you will do

  • Perform incident triage by determining scope, urgency, severity, and potential impact.
  • Correlate incident data and network alerts to identify trends and possible causes.
  • Investigate cyber incidents, identify infection vectors, and conduct cursory log analysis.
  • Research resolution steps, develop mitigation plans, and support restoration of services.
  • Track and document incidents from initial detection through final resolution.
  • Monitor external threat data and coordinate incident information with other organizational components.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required; ability to obtain DHS Suitability required.
  • At least 2 years of directly relevant experience in cyber incident management or cybersecurity operations.
  • Knowledge of incident response methodologies, NIST 800-62, FISMA, and the NCCIC National Cyber Incident Scoring System.
  • Knowledge of attack stages, vulnerability categories, system administration, operating-system hardening, and Computer Network Defense policies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in incident management, operations management, cybersecurity, or a related field; alternatively, a high school diploma with 4–6 years of relevant experience.

Nice to have

  • GCIH, GCFA, GISP, GCED, CCFP, or CISSP certification.
  • Knowledge of operational threat environments and system or application security vulnerabilities.
