Senior Robotics Systems Engineering Manager (MedTech)

Location: Hybrid role based in Boston or Raynham, Massachusetts, United States

Base pay: $137,000–$235,750 per year

What you will do

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary systems engineering team for a complex surgical robotic platform.
• Define system architecture and manage requirements flow-down from clinical needs and business objectives through subsystem implementation and verification.
• Integrate electromechanical hardware, embedded and application software, controls, sensing, actuation, and user interaction.
• Own system-level risk management, design controls, requirements traceability, design reviews, and regulatory submission readiness.
• Coordinate with software, electrical, mechanical, controls, clinical, quality, manufacturing, reliability, and V&V teams to resolve technical trade-offs.
• Support design transfer, product launch, post-market surveillance, audits, nonconformance investigations, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in systems engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of multidisciplinary systems engineering experience and 5+ years working with surgical robotic systems or complex multidisciplinary medical devices.
• Knowledge of embedded systems, firmware and software testing, electromechanical systems, and product development lifecycles.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Polarion.
• Experience with test automation, scripting, and statistical methods, including sample size calculation.
• Strong technical writing, communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Class II or Class III medical devices.
• Certification in CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma.
