Engineering Manager, Perception & Machine Learning

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance are required.

Salary: $200,000–$225,000 per year, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Lead, manage, and develop perception, machine learning, sensor fusion, and software engineers.
• Own planning, prioritization, execution, and delivery for the Perception & ML roadmap.
• Guide architecture and technical decisions across computer vision, tracking, detection, classification, segmentation, and related capabilities.
• Oversee model training, evaluation, data curation, validation, and deployment workflows.
• Translate mission and product requirements into engineering priorities while using field data, testing results, and operator feedback to improve performance.
• Partner with Autonomy, Embedded, Data, Simulation, Hardware, Product, Programs, and Field Operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience in perception, machine learning, computer vision, robotics, autonomy, sensor fusion, or related fields.
• 2+ years of direct people-management experience in a highly technical environment.
• Strong understanding of modern perception systems and experience taking ML or perception capabilities from development through testing and deployment in real-world systems.
• Experience managing technical roadmaps, delivery, dependencies, engineering talent, and cross-functional collaboration.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience managing a Perception, ML, Robotics, or Autonomy engineering team.
• Experience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, defense technology, aerospace, maritime systems, or deployed autonomous systems.
• Experience with multimodal sensors such as cameras, EO/IR, radar, LiDAR, AIS, GPS/INS, or IMU.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorRT, ONNX, CUDA, MLflow, Docker, Kubernetes, NVIDIA Jetson, simulation, synthetic data, or large-scale perception datasets.
• Experience with field testing, customer demonstrations, government or DoD programs, or active or prior security clearance.
