Managing Editor (Digital Media)

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work with a central Madrid office. Scope of responsibility includes the French and Belgian markets.

What you will do

• Lead the creation of compelling editorial content for Secret Media Network outlets and expansion into new markets.
• Manage editors, writers, video producers, and social media creatives through clear workflows, prioritization, and 1-on-1 feedback.
• Define and execute the network-wide creative vision while maintaining editorial standards, brand identity, and tone of voice.
• Analyze city-level KPIs and audience insights to guide content, growth, and revenue strategies.
• Identify editorial partnerships and collaborate with hirify.global departments and external media partners.
• Build and optimize content-driven conversion funnels across storytelling, formats, distribution, and audience insights.

Requirements

• Proficiency in English and bilingual or native-level French.
• At least 5 years of experience in a newsroom, content agency, creative agency, or digital media property.
• At least 2 years of team management experience and strong leadership skills.
• Experience with journalism, local content, social media, digital marketing, and media partnerships.
• Hands-on knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, and other current social platforms.
• Strong writing, presentation, creative, analytical, and business skills, with knowledge of optimization technologies, AI-driven processes, and workflow automation.

Nice to have

• Experience with WordPress, Photoshop, Canva, and other image or video editing software.
• Strong media network contacts and partnerships.
