Application Security Engineer (AI)

Location: Fully in-person between the Palo Alto headquarters and San Francisco office

Salary: $150K–$300K per year plus equity

What you will do

• Build and operate security systems that enable fast product development without avoidable risk.
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities in applications, APIs, and systems that process untrusted web content.
• Design reusable patterns and secure defaults for authentication, authorization, data handling, outbound access, and multi-tenant isolation.
• Develop AI-assisted security tooling for code review, threat modeling, triage, agent harnesses, and evaluation systems.
• Define security controls for enterprise customers and integrate security review into the software development process.
• Work independently with engineers and customers to prioritize high-leverage security problems.

Requirements

• Significant software engineering experience, including several years focused on product or application security.
• Strong web and API security experience, including authentication, authorization, SSRF, IDOR, injection, and multi-tenant isolation.
• Experience building frameworks, libraries, or secure defaults that prevent vulnerability classes across a codebase or organization.
• Experience securing systems that process untrusted inputs, especially LLM or agentic systems.
• Strong production coding skills in Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar languages.
• Ability to operate independently as the primary security owner and make clear prioritization decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, security research, open source security tooling, or conference talks.
