Staff Frontend Engineer (Web3)

What you will do

• Build high-quality user interfaces across web products with strong attention to usability, functionality, and performance.
• Own and evolve complex, reusable components within the Aave design system.
• Set frontend performance standards across data loading, fetching, caching, server rendering, and streaming.
• Apply product thinking to identify user needs, business context, technical constraints, and ambiguous problems.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and product leads to deliver clear solutions.
• Raise the quality bar through technical execution and problem-solving practices.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, CSS, system design, and frontend architecture.
• Deep experience measuring, diagnosing, and improving frontend performance.
• Strong command of Next.js patterns for data loading, fetching, and caching, including server rendering and streaming data.
• Deep experience with component-driven design systems, component design patterns, and consistency at scale.
• Ability to work without a detailed brief and identify the problems that need to be solved.
• Experience resolving complex UX challenges such as information-dense interfaces, multi-step flows, and edge cases.

Nice to have

• Understanding of backend data handling.
• Knowledge of animation best practices for updating data and UI re-renders.
• Curiosity about Web3 and DeFi.
• Curiosity about AI and its use in product engineering and daily workflows.
