Staff Software Engineer (AI-Powered Automation - Pipelines)

What you will do

• Design and build AI agents that help users create, configure, troubleshoot, and improve Pipelines automations.
• Develop AI capabilities for information extraction, content generation, input classification, and context-aware decisions within running automations.
• Lead architecture combining probabilistic AI behavior with reliable enterprise automation, including guardrails, permissions, observability, and failure recovery.
• Deliver fullstack product capabilities from exploration and prototyping through production rollout, evaluation, and iteration.
• Drive architectural decisions, improve engineering standards, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, design, data science, and engineering partners.

Requirements

• Significant software engineering experience and technical leadership on complex production systems.
• Strong backend engineering skills with the ability to contribute across the full product stack.
• Hands-on experience building LLM applications using agents, tool use, retrieval, structured outputs, or multi-step reasoning.
• Experience operating AI-powered features in production, including prompt and context engineering, evaluation, monitoring, cost control, and failure handling.
• Strong architectural judgment and the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
• Remote work from Bulgaria is required.

Nice to have

• Experience building agents that plan, call tools, maintain context, and operate within defined permissions.
• Experience with workflow orchestration, durable execution, event-driven systems, or integration platforms.
• Familiarity with offline evaluations, regression testing, human review, online metrics, or A/B testing for AI systems.
• Experience with enterprise authentication, authorization, governance, auditability, and sensitive customer data.
