Assistant Professor of English, Applied Linguistics (TESOL): Teaching applied linguistics and TESOL courses across undergraduate and graduate programs while developing a research agenda with an accent on TESOL methods, technology-assisted language learning, corpus linguistics, or sociolinguistics. Focus on designing language-learning instruction, researching applied linguistics, and supporting first-generation and historically underserved students.
Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, United States; 9-month, tenure-track faculty position beginning Fall 2027.

What you will do
- Teach a 3/3 course load in applied linguistics, TESOL, English, writing, and related programs.
- Coordinate and teach courses for two undergraduate TESOL certificates serving students across the university.
- Teach in the ENGL BA, secondary English certification, ENGL MA, Elementary Education BS, and BIEM ESL Minor programs.
- Develop and maintain a successful research agenda in applied linguistics.
- Contribute to departmental service and support an interdisciplinary graduate curriculum.
Requirements
- PhD in Applied Linguistics or a related field required; advanced ABD candidates may be considered, with the degree conferred by the appointment date.
- Demonstrated research specialization in at least two of the following areas: TESOL methods, technology-assisted language learning or teaching, corpus linguistics, or sociolinguistics.
- Commitment to teaching a broad range of applied linguistics courses at the undergraduate level.
- Experience teaching language learners.
- Experience working with first-generation students and historically underserved communities.
