Focus on executing trades under supervision, monitoring portfolio exposures, analyzing market flows, and developing pricing, risk, and trading analytics.
Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa; onsite office role

What you will do
- Support market making across South African rates products, including government bonds, interest rate swaps, forward rate agreements, FX swaps, and cross-currency swaps.
- Monitor trading risk, portfolio exposures, hedging activity, trading limits, and risk parameters.
- Execute trades under senior trader supervision and support client activity through market analysis and trade execution.
- Analyze economic data, inflation trends, monetary policy announcements, market flows, and investor positioning.
- Prepare daily profit and loss reports, risk dashboards, and market commentary.
- Contribute to pricing, valuation, trading tools, automation initiatives, and analytics while collaborating with Sales, Research, Structuring, Operations, and Risk.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline.
- Strong interest in financial markets, macroeconomics, and trading.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- High integrity, accountability, professionalism, and the ability to perform under pressure.
Nice to have
- Experience in Markets Operations, Trade Support, or Middle Office with knowledge of the trade lifecycle.
- Knowledge of fixed income products, interest rate markets, and derivative instruments.
- Familiarity with South African financial markets and macroeconomic drivers.
- Experience with market data, analytics, or quantitative models.
