TL;DR
Lead Data Analyst (Python): Running escalated data investigations and turning recurring customer questions into automated tooling, dashboards, agents, and AI-assisted products with an accent on dataset selection, metric accuracy, and data pipeline analysis. Focus on leading a small team, reviewing engineering trade-offs, explaining findings to customers, and deciding when investigations should become permanent solutions.
Location: Hybrid role based in Prague, with office presence at DOCK IN in Prague 8

What you will do
- Run escalated data investigations end to end by reproducing issues, tracing metrics to their sources, and delivering precise answers.
- Join customer calls on urgent data issues and explain findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Prioritize team work, assigning ownership and deadlines for investigations and recurring questions.
- Define team intake, routing, ownership, response expectations, and shared investigation knowledge.
- Turn recurring questions into documentation, dashboards, internal tools, agents, and AI-assisted products with the analytics engineer.
- Manage two direct reports, including providing technical direction to the analytics engineer.
Requirements
- Python is required, along with strong SQL or PySpark skills and the ability to learn PySpark quickly if needed.
- Strong analytical judgment for selecting datasets, understanding data production methods, and investigating unfamiliar systems.
- Hands-on experience with a notebook environment, cloud platform, and Git; the current stack includes Databricks, AWS, and GitLab.
- Enough software engineering knowledge to lead an engineer, including version control, code review, pipelines, deployment, and technical trade-offs.
- Leadership experience and the ability to set objectives, provide feedback, and support the development of two people.
- Ability to take ownership of ambiguous investigations and communicate precise, evidence-based conclusions.
Nice to have
- Experience with modelled or estimated data, including panel data, web analytics, or forecasting.
- Experience building or specifying AI-powered internal tools.
