TL;DR
DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes/Cloud): Building and continuously improving centralized IT systems, cloud-native infrastructure, and CI/CD automation for biomedical research environments with an accent on Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and DevSecOps. Focus on designing scalable multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud platforms, automating deployments, and ensuring security, high availability, and operational reliability.
Location: Based in Milan, Italy, within the campus. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to Italy.
Salary: Up to €50,000 per year, depending on seniority.

What you will do
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, integration, and deployment.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code solutions and automate provisioning, configuration, scaling, and self-healing.
- Administer on-premises and cloud Kubernetes platforms, Docker, microservices, and containerized workloads.
- Support multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud infrastructure while monitoring performance, resource utilization, and latency.
- Integrate security scans, compliance checks, RBAC, secret management, encryption, and DevSecOps practices.
- Resolve infrastructure and CI/CD incidents, perform root cause analysis, maintain documentation, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure automation.
- Strong expertise in Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation and strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
- Basic knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go.
- Good English communication skills are required.
Nice to have
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, CKA, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, or ITIL certification.
