Data Engineer (Java/Python)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and operate data ingestion frameworks using Java, Python, Airflow, Kafka, S3, and Iceberg.
• Power analytical platforms including Snowflake and ClickHouse through reliable batch and streaming data flows.
• Own production operations by implementing monitoring, actionable alerting, failure reduction, performance improvements, and on-call readiness.
• Break down complex engineering problems, write design proposals, and lead technical delivery from planning through release.
• Build reusable tools, documentation, and platform standards that improve developer experience.
• Collaborate with cloud infrastructure teams, product managers, engineering leads, and client technical teams while mentoring engineers and conducting code reviews.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional software or data engineering experience with production batch or streaming ingestion pipelines.
• High proficiency in Java and Python, with strong SQL, data modeling, and analytical data warehouse knowledge.
• Experience with Kafka, S3, Iceberg, Airflow, Snowflake or an equivalent cloud data warehouse.
• Experience owning production cloud services on AWS, including monitoring, observability, performance tuning, and Kubernetes deployment workflows.
• Experience with GitOps or CI/CD and strong cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience optimizing Snowflake resource sizing and cost/performance trade-offs or operating ClickHouse.
• Familiarity with AWS Transfer Family, Excel add-in integrations, or Python boto3 client data delivery.
• Basic exposure to TypeScript, Vue.js, or API integrations.
