Materials Scientist (3D Printing)

hirify.global develops 3D printing tools and technologies used for product design, prototyping, manufacturing, and medical applications.

What you will do

• Research and develop materials for 3D printing from initial laboratory exploration through validation and commercialization.
• Design and conduct experiments to improve material performance and use data to guide development.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure materials print reliably across hirify.global hardware.
• Partner with product management and engineering teams to continuously improve existing and new materials.
• Test, troubleshoot, document, and validate materials in a dynamic development environment.

Requirements

• Degree in a relevant science or engineering field; B.S., M.S., and PhD candidates are welcome.
• Strong understanding of materials science fundamentals and polymer development.
• Ability to design rigorous experiments, analyze data, and optimize materials.
• Resourceful, autonomous problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new methods.
• Strong documentation and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing materials for 3D printing, especially SLA, DLP, or SLS printers.
• 3D CAD modeling experience.
• Programming experience with Python, MATLAB, SQL, or similar tools.
