Senior Materials Scientist (3D Printing)

What you will do

• Research and develop materials for 3D printing from laboratory exploration through validation and commercialization.
• Design and perform experiments to improve materials performance.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure materials print reliably on hirify.global hardware.
• Partner with product management and engineering teams to continuously improve materials.
• Test, troubleshoot, document, and use data to guide development decisions.

Requirements

• Experience with materials science fundamentals and polymer development.
• B.S., M.S., or PhD in a relevant science or engineering field.
• Ability to design and conduct rigorous experiments and work autonomously.
• Strong problem-solving, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work on site in Boston, MA.

Nice to have

• Experience developing materials for 3D printing, especially SLA/DLP or SLS printers.
• 3D CAD modeling experience.
• Programming skills in Python, Matlab, SQL, or similar tools.
