Senior SLS Materials Scientist

What you will do

• Build SLS materials from initial laboratory exploration through validation, production, and commercialization.
• Lead research to improve SLS material performance and develop next-generation solutions.
• Collaborate with product, hardware, and software teams to improve materials using customer feedback.
• Develop evaluation methodologies for material formulations in coordination with SLS print systems.
• Balance material chemistry, thermal dynamics, and printing parameters.

Requirements

• Experience bringing a new material from ideation to production and market.
• Strong understanding of materials science fundamentals and polymer product development.
• Hands-on experience with thermoplastic engineering.
• Ability to design and conduct rigorous experiments, analyze data, test extensively, troubleshoot, and document results.
• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in a relevant science or engineering field.
• Ability to work autonomously and learn new skills to achieve objectives.

Nice to have

• Experience developing materials for 3D printing, especially SLA, DLP, or SLS printers.
• 3D CAD modeling experience.
• Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, SQL, or similar tools.
