SLS Materials Scientist (3D Printing)

What you will do

• Build SLS materials from initial laboratory exploration through validation and commercialization.
• Lead research to improve SLS material performance and develop next-generation solutions.
• Collaborate with product, hardware, and software teams to refine materials using customer feedback.
• Develop methods for evaluating material formulations alongside SLS print systems.
• Balance material chemistry, thermal dynamics, and printing parameters.

Requirements

• Experience bringing a new material from ideation to production and market.
• Solid understanding of materials science fundamentals and polymer product development.
• Hands-on experience with thermoplastic engineering.
• Ability to design and conduct rigorous experiments, troubleshoot extensively, analyze data, work autonomously, and maintain clear documentation.
• B.S., M.S., or PhD in a relevant science or engineering field.

Nice to have

• Experience developing materials for 3D printing, particularly SLA, DLP, or SLS printers.
• 3D CAD modeling experience.
• Programming skills in Python, Matlab, SQL, or similar tools.
