Health, Safety and Environment Lead (Fixed Term Contract) (Aviation)

Location: Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland; the role includes site visits and work across airport infrastructure programmes.

What you will do

• Support the development and implementation of the Infrastructure Department’s HSE management system, including KPIs, dashboards, procedures, reporting systems, and lessons learned.
• Provide expert HSE advice and oversight to programme teams, contractors, and other contracting entities.
• Conduct audits, targeted inspections, site visits, meetings, workshops, and project reviews.
• Review PSDP and PSCS documentation, Permission to Work applications, safety files, and project lifecycle requirements.
• Oversee accident and incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and programme HSE reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement, ISO implementation, risk mitigation, and best practice across the programmes.

Requirements

• Degree or higher qualification in health and safety systems.
• Certificate or higher qualification in environmental studies.
• Chartered membership of a relevant professional body, such as IOSH, IEMA, or CRSP.
• 10+ years of HSE experience across major infrastructure and engineering projects, including demonstrable site-based HSE management experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining HSE management systems and ISO certifications.
• Strong written communication, interpersonal, organisational, prioritisation, and deadline-management skills; proficiency with MS Office, Excel, MS Teams, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Nice to have

• Experience in the aviation industry.
• Knowledge of contract documents, project lifecycle requirements, design impacts, forms of contract, and specifications.
