Focus on optimizing scalable nanofabrication processes, analyzing fabrication data, and improving yield, uniformity, and reproducibility.

Location: Berkeley, California, United States. Workplace: On-site at the Marvell NanoLab cleanroom at UC Berkeley.

Company

hirify.global develops superconducting quantum computing hardware and scalable fabrication technologies for quantum integrated circuits.

What you will do

  • Fabricate superconducting qubits and Josephson tunnel junctions in a cleanroom environment.
  • Prepare, edit, and verify CAD layout files using GDSII-based tools.
  • Develop and optimize photolithography or electron-beam lithography processes.
  • Operate and assist with ICP and RIE plasma etching processes.
  • Perform electrical and structural characterization of fabricated structures.
  • Analyze fabrication data, document process results, and collaborate with scientists and process engineers to improve scalability, yield, uniformity, and reproducibility.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in a semiconductor or nanofabrication cleanroom.
  • Experience with photolithography or electron-beam lithography.
  • Experience with dry etching techniques such as ICP and RIE.
  • Fluency with GDSII-based CAD layout tools, such as KLayout, LayoutEditor, Cadence, or L-Edit.
  • Strong experimental skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively.

Nice to have

  • Current or past membership with the Marvell NanoLab cleanroom at UC Berkeley.
  • Experience with AlOx Josephson junctions.
  • Training in electrical engineering, materials science, physics, or a related field.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on experience across the complete fabrication workflow for superconducting quantum circuits.
  • Collaboration with experienced scientists, engineers, and process researchers.
  • Opportunity to contribute to scalable superconducting quantum hardware development.
