Intern - Biotechnologist (Protein)

Location: Piscataway, NJ, United States. Full-time onsite role with 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, and 2 rest days that may not always fall on weekends.

What you will do

• Perform resuscitation, passage, transfection, and culture of mammalian cells, including HEK293 and CHO.
• Support recombinant protein and antibody expression experiments, analyze cell-culture data, and prepare experimental records and reports.
• Operate bioreactors, centrifuges, and other laboratory instruments; prepare buffers and reagents and perform required maintenance.
• Purify recombinant antibodies and proteins using affinity, ion-exchange, size-exclusion chromatography, and other methods.
• Develop purification schemes based on order requirements and complete related records and verification.
• Formulate and update SOPs while documenting and consolidating laboratory practices.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in biological sciences, life sciences, bioengineering, chemistry, or a related field.
• Practical laboratory experience with recombinant protein or antibody expression.
• Familiarity with mammalian cell culture, chromatography, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, HPLC, and other protein detection methods.
• Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Availability for 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, with 2 rest days that may not always fall on weekends.
