Software Engineer (CloudFront)

hirify.global operates AWS CloudFront, a global content delivery platform for video and other high-volume use cases.

What you will do

• Design new systems and improve existing systems, owning technical direction from inception through delivery.
• Build and manage CloudFront components including core routing, Anycast Routing, L4 load balancing, Traffic Director, DNS, and backbone intelligent routing.
• Drive initiatives that improve service availability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Write code, conduct code reviews, and contribute to production-ready implementations.
• Mentor team members and guide solutions to complex technical problems.
• Develop services capable of handling traffic for major global sporting events and millions of users.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Professional programming experience in at least one software programming language.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rust, C, C++, Java, eBPF XDP, Kinesis, Lambda, DynamoDB, or ElastiCache.
• Experience applying software engineering principles and fundamentals to large-scale distributed systems.
