OT Security Response Engineer (OT Cybersecurity)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Hybrid 70/30 work model with 70% in-office collaboration. Only U.S. persons—citizens, permanent residents, asylees, or refugees—are eligible due to U.S. export control requirements.

Salary: $145,900–$234,200 annually, with potential discretionary bonus, incentive compensation, or equity award.

What you will do

• Investigate and respond to security incidents across operational technology and industrial control system environments.
• Perform incident triage, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident reviews while maintaining operational continuity.
• Analyze security alerts, network traffic, logs, malware, endpoint threats, and identity-based attacks.
• Use Splunk Enterprise Security, Nozomi, CrowdStrike Falcon, and Defender to detect and investigate threats.
• Coordinate response actions across cybersecurity, OT, and IT teams.
• Summarize technical findings, business impact, and required response actions for cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, software engineering, and/or IT, with expertise in threat detection, detection engineering, incident response, or threat hunting.
• Strong hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise Security, Defender, and CrowdStrike Falcon.
• Knowledge of OT/ICS environments, manufacturing networks, equipment connectivity, and operational constraints.
• Understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP security architectures and modern detection telemetry.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, and CIS frameworks. U.S. person status is required for access to export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Experience with Nozomi and other OT security tools.
• Knowledge of OT-specific threats and regulatory considerations in industrial environments.
