Microbiologist Technician Intern (Sterile Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in York, Pennsylvania, United States; candidates must be local to York, PA and authorized to work in the U.S.

Temporary three-month internship with a flexible Monday–Friday part-time schedule of 4 hours and full weekend shifts of 8–12 hours, with potential extension.

BioTechnique is a sterile injectable contract development and manufacturing organization providing formulation, compounding, fill-finish, and lyophilization services from IND applications through commercial production.

What you will do

• Perform microbiological testing and environmental monitoring of products, utilities, surfaces, air, and personnel according to SOPs and compendial standards.
• Execute disinfectant efficacy testing and related microbiological assays.
• Prepare and maintain media, sampling kits, and test solutions while supporting sterilization practices.
• Follow aseptic gowning and PPE procedures in classified cleanrooms; operate biological safety cabinets and laboratory instruments.
• Document results in validated systems such as ACE and LIMS, maintain data integrity, and support inventory and reagent tracking.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Facilities on cleaning, calibration, maintenance, and laboratory activities.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in a related technical field.
• Must be local to York, Pennsylvania.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to continue the internship during semester breaks, working part-time or at least 10–15 hours per week during academic semesters.
• Knowledge of quality systems and regulations, including cGMP, ISO standards, and FDA/EU requirements.
• Experience with document control, change control, electronic quality management systems, communication, problem-solving, and analytical work.
