Senior Finance Partner, Japan

What you will do

• Serve as the primary finance partner for Japan, aligning local budgets, forecasts, actuals, and variance analysis with global Strategic Planning & Forecasting processes.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, intercompany transactions, accounts payable and receivable, online banking platforms, and corporate card providers.
• Coordinate tax, transfer pricing, audit, controllership, and treaty-related activities with external professional service providers.
• Oversee non-finance operational support, including Payment Services Act obligations, statutory disclosures, HR and payroll support, corporate administration, insurance, travel, and payment processing.
• Act as the central coordination point for Finance, Legal, HR, IT, Esports, Publishing, regional budget owners, and global leadership.

Requirements

• Native-level Japanese and fluent English are required.
• Strong expertise in Strategic FP&A and management accounting.
• Knowledge of corporate tax, including consumption tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, treasury management, and tax treaty coordination.
• Strong familiarity with the Japanese Payment Services Act, escrow and deposit requirements, and the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions.
• Understanding of social insurance, labor matters, year-end statutory reporting, and HR operations.
• Experience managing external counsel and professional service firms, with strong cross-functional stakeholder communication skills.
