Principal Quality Engineer (AI)

Location: Secaucus, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $141,000–$188,000 annually, plus potential bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing quality transformation initiatives and establish standards for risk analysis, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Develop smart factory systems covering automation, metrology, advanced inspection, testing, predictive analytics, and digital traceability.
• Implement and sustain Statistical Process Control, Gauge R&R studies, measurement system analysis, and process risk controls.
• Analyze complex production data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities to improve yield, reliability, and process robustness.
• Lead supplier qualification, audits, supplier quality management, and structured problem-solving for internal and supplier-related issues.
• Partner with design, operations, manufacturing, test, supplier engineering, and customer teams during new product introduction and quality alignment.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in high-volume, high-complexity manufacturing, including at least 5 years in leadership or transformation roles.
• Expertise in regression analysis, correlation analysis, DOE, SPC, PFMEA, Gauge R&R, commonality studies, and other statistical methods.
• Proficiency with Minitab, JMP, Python, R, SQL, or equivalent data-analysis tools.
• Experience with electronics assembly, PCBA, servers, or another high-reliability industry, plus CAD tools and industrial automation platforms.
• Experience with PLC programming, robotic integration, industrial sensors, MES systems, and coaching technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML tools for statistical problem-solving, predictive analytics, or anomaly detection.
• MBA or exposure to business, finance, or economics.
