Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer: Core (GCP)

Location: Remote within the United States, except California. An onsite interview or in-person onboarding may be required for identity verification.

What you will do

• Plan, design, build, and operate core cloud infrastructure for development and engineering teams.
• Own deployment pipelines and platform capabilities covering compute, identity, observability, tooling, and security.
• Debug critical production infrastructure issues and perform root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Design reliable systems that support automated workload movement and failure avoidance.
• Build platform solutions in Go or Python to improve developer velocity and feature delivery.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams, promote engineering standards, and lead complex technical challenges to completion.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in software development, DevOps, or Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes and using Terraform in declarative infrastructure environments.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cloud environments.
• Production programming experience in Go or Python.
• Experience designing monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions, including tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
• Deep familiarity with Unix/Linux shell environments.

Nice to have

• Experience building and scaling custom Kubernetes controllers and operators.
• Production experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
• Experience scaling relational databases, in-memory data stores, and streaming data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes.
