Текст:
TL;DR
Nuclear Analysis Engineer (Sodium-Cooled Reactors): Performing reactor physics and neutronics analyses for advanced sodium-cooled microreactor cores with an accent on Monte Carlo transport, deterministic methods, fuel depletion, and multiphysics coupling. Focus on developing high-fidelity reactor models, evaluating criticality and safety parameters, and generating technical documentation for design reviews, testing, and licensing.
Location: On-site in Austin, Texas; candidates must be based in the United States. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Persons in compliance with 10 CFR Part 810 and may not hold non-compliant foreign citizenships.
Salary: Competitive salary based on technical level.
Company
develops factory-fabricated, sodium-cooled microreactors designed to provide scalable, reliable, and affordable nuclear power.
What you will do
- Perform neutronics and reactor physics analyses for advanced reactor core design, evaluation, and optimization.
- Develop three-dimensional reactor models using Monte Carlo transport tools such as Serpent, MCNP, OpenMC, and SCALE.
- Evaluate criticality, neutron flux and power distributions, power peaking, control rod worth, shutdown margin, reactivity, kinetics, and feedback effects.
- Perform fuel depletion, fuel cycle, activation, decay heat, radiation source term, and shielding analyses.
- Couple neutronics models with thermal-hydraulics, fuel performance, and thermo-mechanical analysis tools.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate methods, assumptions, uncertainties, limitations, and design implications for reviews and licensing activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience performing reactor physics or neutronics analyses for nuclear reactor systems.
- Strong knowledge of neutron transport, reactor physics, criticality, and nuclear engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with continuous-energy Monte Carlo methods and deterministic reactor physics methods or tools.
- Proficiency in Python for engineering analysis, automation, scientific computing, or data processing.
- Must be based in the United States and willing to work on-site in Austin, Texas; U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Person status is required.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in reactor physics, core design, or nuclear analysis.
- Experience with production neutronics tools including Serpent, MCNP, OpenMC, SCALE/KENO, Griffin, or DIF3D.
- Experience with advanced thermal-spectrum or sodium-cooled reactor systems.
- Experience with AI tools, NQA-1-compliant software quality assurance, software qualification, or commercial-grade dedication.
Culture & Benefits
- Fast-paced engineering environment focused on difficult technical problems and practical, rigorous analysis.
- Collaborative work across fuel design, thermal-hydraulics, safety analysis, mechanical design, manufacturing, testing, and licensing.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Paid time off.
- Corporate gym membership and opportunities for professional growth.
