Senior Quantitative Researcher (Sports Betting)

Salary: £80,000–£110,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop probabilistic and statistical models to calculate football outcome probabilities.
• Extract information from sporting and market data sources.
• Build, connect, deploy, monitor, and debug Python research and modelling pipelines.
• Research and test alternative models to improve strategy performance.
• Apply GLMs, BMMs, Kalman filters, MCMC, and the TrueSkill Ranking system.
• Collaborate with an experienced quantitative research team on complex sporting questions.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• At least 3 years of football experience within the sports betting industry.
• Proven experience building profitable betting models with real-money results.
• Deep expertise in probability, statistics, and machine learning, including leakage, overfitting, calibration, uncertainty, and realistic validation.
• Strong Python and engineering skills for end-to-end model development.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.

• Hands-on experience with LLMs and coding agents in an AI-native research and development workflow.
