Risk Control Lead Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Stockholm, Sweden. Hybrid work with most teams meeting in the office 2–3 days per week; frequency may vary by team.

Salary: SEK 972,659–1,108,832 per year.

What you will do

• Plan and deliver risk-based assurance reviews assessing the design and operating effectiveness of engineering controls.
• Review software delivery, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, identity and access management, change and incident management, resilience, and third-party technology risk.
• Translate DORA, SFSA, FCA, NYDFS, and SOX obligations into clear, testable technical control expectations.
• Evaluate evidence, identify control weaknesses and systemic engineering risks, and produce defensible findings for senior stakeholders.
• Work independently with engineering teams while maintaining professional judgement.
• Build automated testing, continuous control monitoring, and reusable assurance methods.

Requirements

• Experience in technology assurance, IT audit, ICT risk, security assurance, or GRC engineering, with specific reviews or assessments delivered.
• Ability to assess both control design and operating effectiveness.
• Technical depth in cloud, software delivery, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or operational resilience.
• Ability to evaluate evidence, identify gaps, and reach defensible conclusions independently.
• Ability to convert regulatory requirements into specific, testable technical controls.
• Experience in a regulated or high-control environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or another regulated technology business.
• Knowledge of DORA, EBA requirements, NIS2, ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, SOC reporting, or ISAE standards.
• Experience automating evidence collection or control testing with APIs, SQL, Python, or GRC tooling.
